One-day symposium, held at University College London, 13 June 2024, exploring the distinctive role of the Catholic Church and Catholic institutions, theologians, public figures or ordinary people responding to conflicts of all kinds during the period 1914-1945.

Submissions for short exploratory 5-minute presentations and full 20-minute papers are welcomed. Proposals should include a title, an abstract and current or most recent academic affiliation.

Annual Conference of the International Network for the Study of War and Religion in the Modern World, held at the Armed Forces Chaplaincy Centre, Defence Academy of the United Kingdom, 19-21 June 2024.

The conference explores subjects illuminating conceptual, ethical, pastoral, and historical aspects of the relationship between religion and war.

Submissions for 20-minute papers on topics in the conference theme, and 5-minute “lightning papers” focussing on objects held by the Royal Army Chaplain’s Museum are invited.

Anglo-Israelism and the British Imperial Imagination. 22-23 February 2024. Submissions by 20 December 2023.

This symposium brings together scholars with research interests in Anglo-Israelism, Christian Zionism, and British Imperial History to considder the influence of Anglo-Israelism on the trajectory of the British Empire and its modern legacy, as well as the role of biblical thinking in the modern world.

Paper proposals with a 300-word abstract and details of academic affiliation are invited.
